Yes. I am a state delegate for Utah's Republican Convention in April. I went to the caucus meeting in March, listened to what people were saying, and realized, "I can do this. Actually, I want to do this." I had one of those "Oh crap!" moments. You know those right? When you become aware of what your mind has been telling you all along.
The thought of running for a state delegate first came when a letter was read in church encouraging us to become actively involved in the political process. I dismissed it. It came again as we were walking into the meeting that night. I figured I was just being cocky. When it came the third time, I went with it. I prayed and asked, "What should I say?" The answer came quickly and clearly, and the rest is history.
I'm a bit overwhelmed with all that is going on but I'm enjoying being involved. I listen to debates and to the candidates more than I have in the past. The state convention is going to be an interesting event with many people wanting to oust Senator Hatch from his office. I'm curious to see how this all plays out.
On another note, I had an "Oh crap!" moment the other day while traveling for work. Wonder what will come of that one...

Gratitude Day 2
1- Opportunity to vote.
2- Working from home. I like that I can be wrapped in a blanket on my couch working. I still go to campus a couple of times a week but I love that I'm not required to work in a non-existent office.
3- Musicnotes.com. Great website where I can download and print sheet music. If you want a $6 credit, let me know and I'll send you an invite.

Attitude of Gratitude - Day 2
1. I am grateful for the right to vote. Many people around the world do not have that opportunity. Even though our system isn't perfect, at least we have the option.
2. I am grateful for my dreams because they help me in my homework. I have a take-home case midterm that is due tomorrow. I read the case right before going to sleep, and in my dream, I worked out some of the major issues I should focus on solving. This is not the first time this has happened. Of course it isn't fun to write your 10 page paper in your dreams, and then wake up to realize you still have to write it.
3. I am grateful for a good night's sleep. I have been pushing myself for weeks and trying to survive on five hours. My body was crashing! The past few nights I have been able to get seven to eight hours and am starting to feel better.
